​​​My name is Bob Schluben, and I am a police officer for the Ciy of Lenexa Kansas.  I am currently assigned to the Patrol Division. I have been a police officer for the Lenexa Police Department since 2000.  I was a police officer with the Merriam Kansas Police Department from 1990 to 2000.  I have been a police officer for 23 years.  In my law enforcement career I have also been a detective, a field training officer, a warrant officer, and a bicycle patrol officer.  I was also assigned to the traffic unit for six years as the DUI enforcement officer.  I am currently an instructor for standardized field sobriety testing, Drug Recognition Expert, and the Intoxilyzer 8000.  I have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. I also have a Bachelor of General Studies Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas.  I have been an avid runner for most of my adult life.  I started out running 5K and 10K races.  I decided that I wanted to run a marathon, and in October of 2009, I ran the Kansas City Marathon.  I have been running marathons ever since.  I ran 27 marathons in 2012.​​​

I have two sons.  Kyle, who is 10 years old, is a fifth grader.  He enjoys running.  He has run many races, and he sometimes runs the half marathon while I am running the full marathon.  He has also run 5K and 10K races.  He plays baseball and soccer, takes Kenpo karate lessons, and plays the guitar.  Connor, who is 6 years old, is in first grade.  He is not quite ready yet to run races, but he wants to.  He plays baseball and soccer, and takes Kenpo karate lessons.
